Hello, & welcome to the all new Website of the Lions Club of Barwell & Earl Shilton!
Our Lions Club is part of the International Association of Lions Clubs, Lions are members of community service clubs dedicated to the idea that local people who live in the community are in the best position to know who needs help and why.
More than 44,500 strong, these local clubs are part of the world's largest service club organisation, with over 1.35 million members serving in more than 200 countries and areas. The association is both non-political and non-sectarian. Through membership in a Lions club, people not only help those in need, but have the opportunity to develop friendships.
The Barwell and Earl Shilton Lions Club was chartered in 1976 and also serves the surrounding villages of Newbold Verdon, Sapcote, Elmesthorpe, Stoney Stanton, Market Bosworth, and Kirkby Mallory. Our club is a Voluntary Service Organisation and is a registered charity. The club currently has 26 members and is always looking for people willing to contribute time and energy to making their community a better place to live.
The running costs of the club are met by subscriptions paid by the members, therefore all monies raised from activities are returned back into the community via various projects.
Our club meets on the 2nd (business) & 4th (social) Tuesdays in the month at the The Barwell & District Constitutional Club, 20 Chapel Street, Barwell, LE9 8DD. Guests are welcome at Social meetings, but attendance at Business meetings are restricted to members or prospective members of Lions Clubs international.
